Looks like Lauren Layne may be onto another winning formula with this series, and I cannot wait to get my hands on To Have and To Hold when it releases in July! But, here we are, and LL wrote a Christmas book and…well…it was Christmas. Especially since he could be thoughtful at just the right moment. I'm a sucker for a holiday story and this one ticks all the Christmas boxes. Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
And I was so happy when it did! I really liked the build up, I loved when sparks flew between the two with both became aware of each other. Initial Thoughts Completely predictable but cute. When a psychic tells Kelly that she has meet her One True Love, will she realizes that he's the one who has been there all along? I read this page story in one sitting. Books by Lauren Layne. I think the tag word for this one is 'appearances can and often are deceiving' in that everything Leah thinks she knows is completely wrong and it ultimately boils down to lack of communication on both their parts. The theme here is the lack of communication when you are hurt and how you could miss out on something that could actually be really good. This first novella is a second chance romance story that centers on Leah Mchale, a photographer that the Belles tend to hire on a frequent basis.
However, Leah wasn't expecting the other photographer to be her ex-boyfriend, Jason Rhodes. I hand washed a dog sweater. Having split from Jason twelve months previously, the last thing Leah wants to do is spend three days in close quarters with him photographing the society wedding of the year. I liked that she was someone who spoke her mind very openly, but at the same time I resented her for not even giving Jason a chance to explain himself, so in the end, I did have a bit of a hard time warming up to her because really, their relationship could have been fixed very early on.
